Science, you said, is the big "what if...?"

What if
at your brother's wedding,
this spring (my autumn),
I was holding your hand?
Would the sky fall?

What if
your mom was pleased
to see
me
and
you in love?
Is that impossible?

What if
my head on your shoulder
fitted perfectly?
Would you wake me?

What if
sometime I gave you
gold ring, fourth finger, left hand?
Would you keep your hand
in your pocket
all your life?
Or would you answer true
when people looked,
saw, asked
"who?"
